Hydraulic seal factory supplier 2024: The Fluid Film – In most mechanical seals the faces are kept lubricated by maintaining a thin film of fluid between the seal faces. This film can either come from the process fluid being pumped or from an external source. The need for a fluid film between the faces presents a design challenge – allowing sufficient lubricant to flow between the seal faces without the seal leaking an unacceptable amount of process fluid, or allowing contaminants in between the faces that could damage the seal itself. This is achieved by maintaining a precise gap between the faces that is large enough to allow in a small amounts of clean lubricating liquid but small enough to prevent contaminants from entering the gap between the seal faces. This micro-gap is maintained using springs and hydraulic force to push the seal faces together, while the pressure of the liquid between the faces (the fluid film) acts to push them apart. See additional information on rod seals.
Types of Mechanical Seals – Several types of mechanical seals are available. Some of the popular ones include: Balanced and unbalanced seals; Pusher and non-pusher seals Cartridge seals. A mechanical seal consists of rotary and stationary faces running against each other. These faces apply a closing force against each other using springs and the pressure generated from the process fluid. This way, a seal is formed to prevent the fluid from leaking between the rotating shaft and the pump housing. Mechanical seals can be selected based on the type of pump application. Choosing the wrong seal can affect pump performance and lead to damage and costly repairs. An unbalanced mechanical seal is preferred if the pump needs to operate at a lower pressure. However, high pressure pumping applications require balanced mechanical seals. Balanced seals also perform better in high temperature operating conditions. Cartridge seals require less maintenance but are more expensive, hence used for limited applications.
Due to the volume and weight limitations of the system, it is impossible to install an ideal filtration and cooling system. High temperature, high pressure, and high speed cause the hydraulic oil to deteriorate easily, and the mechanical parts are also prone to erosion and stains. There are many stains and impurities in hydraulic oil, but it cannot be thoroughly filtered, which is the aspect of endogenous stains. All kinds of dust in the working environment may be very large, and it will inevitably enter the hydraulic system in multiple ways, causing oil pollution, which is an external stain. Therefore, the sealing system is required to be resistant to stains.
The spring seal produced by DMS SEALS is perfect for being applied to extremely high-speed, very low-speed equipment with micro piston strokes and other special operating conditions. It can be used with rotary seals and maintains good sealing performance in violent shake and vibration motion environments. At the same time, our seals are extremely adaptable to a wide range of working media. It is resistant to a wide range of chemicals except for soluble alkali metals, high-temperature fluorine and chlorine trifluoride. Therefore, it works well with liquids such as oils and water with high and low temperature.
Rubber seals are a common type of basic component in sealing devices, and play a very important role in the contradiction between leakage and sealing. Using rubber seals is an important way to promote technological advancement and prevent and reduce environmental pollution. They are a class of rubber products that are widely used in sealing technology. Because rubber is a polymer material with valuable elasticity, a wide temperature range. It gives less stress in different media producing large deformation, which can provide contact pressure, compensate for leakage gap, and achieve the purpose of sealing.
Since the scraper seal is made of the special material, PTFE, it has an impurity immersion function. Therefore, when combined with the piston rod seal and the metal bushing, it can prevent damage to the piston rod and prevent the accumulation of oil pressure. It has a diameter range of 3-1600mm and a temperature range of -30°C + 200°C. The wiper scraper seal can operate at speeds of up to 5 m/s. It has high wear resistance, tear resistance, low-temperature resistance and good strength. Our wiper seals can be used in combination with piston seals and anti-wear rings to prevent oil in the cylinder from being mixed with foreign matter, which causes damage to the working seal. It is especially suitable for piston rods with a large diameter. Moreover, it has a wide range of applications, such as agricultural machinery, injection moulding machines, forklifts, cranes and so on.
Influence of flange form: Different flange forms require different gaskets. Smooth-faced flanges are generally only used for low pressure, with soft thin gaskets; under high pressure, if the strength of the flange is sufficient, smooth-faced flanges can also be used, but thick soft gaskets should be used, or inner belt reinforcement should be used. Wound gasket for ring or reinforcement ring. In this case, metal gaskets are also not suitable, because the required pressing force is too large, resulting in large deformation of the bolts, making the flange difficult to seal. If a metal gasket is to be used, the smooth surface should be reduced to reduce the contact area with the gasket. In this way, under the condition of the same bolt tension, the compressive stress of the reduced narrow smooth surface will increase.
Support and positioning The piston and piston rod are radially supported and positioned in the cylinder barrel. Isolate the two pairs of motion pairs of piston and cylinder, piston rod and guide sleeve to prevent direct scratches, abrasions and strains between the motion pairs. Especially when the motion pairs are all steel parts, they must be isolated, otherwise they will be easily strained. The guide belt also has an important role to reduce the friction and friction work between the moving parts, reduce the ineffective work and heat. Vibration absorption and noise reduction Reduce system vibration and noise. It is mainly filled with tetrafluoroethylene and phenolic cloth, and there are also a very small amount of polyoxymethylene, nylon and soft metal. Find additional info on dmsseals.com.
